About
Katelyn is an accomplished recording and mix engineer based in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduation from Belmont University (Audio Engineering Technology, B.S.), she quickly established herself in the industry, rising through the ranks at Ocean Way studios, located in the heart of Music City on storied Music Row.
Since the early age of five, Katelyn has pursued her passion for music. Piano lessons were followed a few years later by guitar lessons, where her disciplined pursuit of thumbstyle guitar—whose most notable luminaries include Merle Travis and Chet Atkins—won her the 2018 National Thumbpickers Hall of Fame/Home of the Legends Competition title of Grand Champion. She was only the second to sweep the championship, and the first woman to do so. Her recognition brought her in front of radio and television audiences, and caught the attention of some of the world’s most renown players such as Tommy Emmanuel and Doyle Dykes, both of whom she has also shared the stage with.
While continuing to pursue guitar as a hobby, most days you can find Katelyn behind a console, using her technical skills and musical know-how to engineer and assist on projects for major labels, independent artists, video game developers, the motion picture and entertainment industry, and commercial advertising agencies. Selected clients and projects include Bon Jovi, HARDY, Morgan Wallen, Brooks & Dunn, Joss Stone, Tommy Emmanuel, Joe Bonamassa, Zach Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker, The Earls of Leicester, The War and Treaty, Dan + Shay, Cody Fry, Pinar Toprak, Carter Burwell, Chris Lennertz, Jeff Morrow, Blake Neely, Joel McNeely, and Yoshihiro Ike, among others. She has also worked on projects for HBO, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney, Disneyland Paris, Sea World, Bungie, EA, EA Sports, Ubisoft, and Player First Games.
